House of Play is excited to offer 3 different workshops and talks with world renowned sex educator Reid Mihalko, founder of Sex Geek Summer Camp. Known for his inspiring blend of humor, personal stories, keen insights, and comprehensive sexual health knowledge, Reid’s 20-year career is filled with workshops, experiences, and teaching frameworks that have influenced culture and the sex and intimacy fields.
Most of us were never taught how to do casual sex well.
We were not taught how to talk about desire clearly. We were not taught how to notice when chemistry is making our choices a little blurry. We were not taught how to enjoy connection without pretending we have no feelings. And we were definitely not taught how to make agreements before things get complicated.
So we improvise.
Sometimes that works beautifully.Sometimes we fall in love by accident.Sometimes we confuse good sex with good compatibility.Sometimes we tell ourselves “it’s casual” while secretly hoping the other person can read our mind.
Hookups Without Heartache is an invitation to take casual sex seriously — not because it has to be heavy, but because care, clarity, and honesty make play more fun for everyone.
In this workshop, internationally known sex and relationship educator Reid Mihalko will share his Casual Sex Protocols, The Venn Diagram of Misery, and Safer Sex Elevator Speech — practical frameworks for helping people create more nourishing, drama-reduced casual connections (as well as better sex!).
Together we will explore how sex, bonding, attachment, fantasy, and assumptions can overlap, and how to have better conversations before everyone is emotionally tangled in the bedsheets.
This is a workshop for adults who want to stay kind while staying honest. For people who want more pleasure and less confusion. For people who want their hookups, dates, friends-with-benefits, open relationships, and casual adventures to feel good before, during, and after.
This is not about becoming detached or cold.It is not about avoiding feelings. It is not about pretending casual connection cannot be meaningful.
It is about learning how to move with more awareness, more self-responsibility, and more care for yourself and the people you play with.
The workshop will include teaching, questions, reflection, and small group shares. There will be no nudity, no touch exercises, and no partnered physical practice.
