RopeCamp is an afternoon and evening co-created event for rope lovers, where we learn, practice, inspire and play together in an open and informal way.
THE AFTERNOON
Facilitated by experienced rope teachers Anna and Jac Fabian, the afternoon is for workshops, inspirations, experiments, and demonstrations.
Together we will build a program based on the wishes and skill levels in the room, which could include things such as tying with deeper connection, using your body more actively in ropes, learning to tie an Agura transition, using small bamboos to add intensity, re-learning that front gote you’ve forgotten, playing with exposure and emotion in ropes, or whatever we feel like exploring together.
We will co-create the day, so bring your ideas, wishes and longings, but be prepared to let go of expectations and enjoy the feeling of learning and inspiring each other as a collective.
Anna and Jac will offer their knowledge, and participants are also invited to share your experience and pitch workshops as well. The most liked topics will be selected and put into a program for the day, where we also aim to cover the levels of experience in the room.
Anna and Jac are experienced in teaching rope play from beginners to very advanced levels, so there will be something to learn or try for everyone.
THE EVENING
At night we jam, practice, and play together.
To co-create a warm and collective vibe for the evening, we start out with some rounds of short meet-and-greet exercises together.
The rest of the evening is dedicated to free play - perhaps trying out some of the new things learned during the day, maybe diving deeper into interesting meetings you had, or tying in small groups with some of the people you met.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
Anyone with the desire to spend a day diving into rope play in an open and informal format, where we learn, inspire each other and play together. During the afternoon workshops and the evening of open play, you can decide if you want mainly to be tied, to tie, or to switch.
CAN I JOIN AS A BEGINNER?
Experienced beginners are welcome, as you do need some basic knowledge of ropes to attend! If you plan on mostly tying, you need a minimum of basic tying knowledge, including being comfortable tying single and double column ties, simple frictions, and a chest tie. If you plan on being tied, you need to have some prior experience being in ropes, and having been tied at least a few times.
This event is also for more experienced lovers or rope, we aim to cover all levels present in the room, so there will be something to learn or practice for everyone.
DO I NEED A PARTNER?
You can come alone, in pairs or as a group. We will do our best to match people who come alone, however we cannot guarantee that there will always be someone you can tie with.
The exercises are often practical, physical, and hands-on. You’ll be invited to work with different people in various combinations, giving you the chance to co-create in a fluid, collective experience.
If you want to tie with your partner only, that’s fine too.
DRESSCODE
Wear something comfortable that you can move around freely in. We encourage you to dress up and wear something that fits your expression of rope play.
WHAT TO BRING
Rope, rings, and carabiners! We have some rope and gear that can be borrowed, but please bring your own if you have them, so we know there’s enough for everyone.
