Devotion - The Thrill of Offering. The Charge of Receiving.

  • Shetlandsgade 3, 1st floor 2300 Copenhagen Denmark (map)

Devotion is one of the deepest pleasures within power exchange. It is the desire to offer your attention, discipline, body, effort, beauty, endurance, service, or suffering to someone whose deviant pleasures genuinely matter to you. The satisfaction of anticipating a need before it is spoken. The pride of doing something well enough to deserve appreciation. The quiet joy of becoming indispensable.

But devotion only exists if someone is willing to receive it.

For many dominants, receiving another person's offering is more difficult than giving instructions. To truly receive devotion requires confidence. It asks us to accept responsibility for another person's trust, to communicate clearly, to correct when needed, to praise generously, and to shape another person's experience with intention and care. And to find the balance between receiving what is offered, and taking what we want.

For one day and evening, we explore devotion and the delicate tension between offering and taking.

DAY

Through embodied exercises, rituals, conversation, play and reflection, we investigate the many forms devotion can take within power exchange. Service. Discipline. Ritual. Praise. Correction. Gratitude. Care. Ownership. Authority.

Submissives will be invited to discover what they most naturally long to offer. What kind of service feels deeply satisfying or erotic? What qualities do they most enjoy embodying? How does devotion become something freely given rather than merely expected?

Dominants will explore the complementary practice of receiving. How do we recognise another person's gifts? How do we take more? How do we communicate appreciation? When do we correct? When do we demand more? How do we do less to make space for the submissive’s devotion? And how do we hold authority in a way that allows devotion to flourish rather than diminish?

NIGHT

As evening falls, the workshop transforms into a night of scenes of power. The room becomes a living exploration of devotion expressed within power. There will be service, rituals, correction, appreciation, generosity, conversation, playful challenges, and opportunities to deepen both your own dynamic and your understanding of what devotion means to you.

Throughout the evening, Anso and Jac will occasionally offer collective scores and invitations that draw the room together before opening the space again for each couple's own exploration.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This is a couples event.

This evening - and the KNEEL series - is for everyone who is curious about exploring power exchange as more than a dynamic. As a practice. As serious play. As deeply erotic. As a way of cultivating presence, intimacy, and conscious connection. And as a way of exploring who we are as humans and as social beings longing to belong.

THE KNEEL SERIES

This event is part of the KNEEL series by Anso Vela and Jac Fabian: Six immersive workshops, rituals, dinners, and social experiences about power. They are for couples and run from September to December 2026. You can join one, some or all events.

CAN I JOIN AS A BEGINNER?

Yes you can. But be aware that the KNEEL series is not a step by step intro to how to play with power series. We explore together and in many different ways. We ask questions and find the answers within ourselves through exercises, play and reflections. You may learn a whole lot about what power exchange is about at its core for you, as we focus a lot on the why and how we bring ourselves more fully into the moments of power.

DO I NEED A PARTNER?

Yes you do! You need to sign up as a couple and at each KNEEL event one of you needs to be in the submissive and one in the dominant role. You cannot come without a partner. You do not need to be romantic partners or sexual partners, but you need to be open and excited about being erotic with each other in a power dynamic.

At the opening of the evening we facilitate that you agree on your boundaries of the day with each other and to what extent you may be open to engage with others. This is up to you.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS

The KNEEL series is facilitated by Anso Vela and Jac Fabian who have many years of experience with power exchange both as deep, erotic sessions and daily, meaningful practice.

Anso Vela’s (she/her) current artistic work develops spaces where power, intimacy and desire can be explored with awareness and intention. She creates immersive formats that function as laboratories for surrender, authority, trust and responsibility, engaging BDSM as both artistic language and relational inquiry.

Alongside this, her curatorial practice operates across larger cultural frameworks, shaping international collaborations and platforms that examine how art and culture can influence perception, contribute to structural change, and foster connectedness in a fragmented world.

Jac Fabian (he/him) is an experienced rope bondage and kink practitioner who’s been teaching and facilitating BDSM for more than a decade. His focus is the meeting point of perversion, power dynamics, aesthetics, group facilitation and co-creation processes, artistic experimentation, and consciousness. He is the founder and director of House of Play in Copenhagen. Jac has performed in Tokyo, at The Danish Royal Theatre and many other kink and art venues.
