There are few things more civilised than afternoon tea.
A beautifully laid table.
Fresh coffee and strong tea.
Homemade cakes.
Polite conversation.
Perfect manners.
And beneath it all:
Expectation.
Effort.
Pride.
Appreciation.
Perfection.
And then in some more rare cases perhaps
Hierarchy.
Control.
Devotion.
Desire.
Perversion.
Punishment.
Cake & Canes transforms the tradition of afternoon tea into a playful and erotic exploration of service, power exchange, hospitality and the delicate art of receiving feedback gracefully.
Inspired equally by English tea culture, competitive baking shows and BDSM protocol, submissives are invited to bring a cake prepared especially for the occasion. Each baker will formally present their offering to the room before it is inspected, tasted and evaluated.
Throughout the afternoon, submissives will serve tea and cake, attend to their dominants and help maintain the elegance of the salon. Dominants are invited to direct, observe and evaluate: offering precise praise, thoughtful correction and perhaps the occasional note for improvement.
After all, every baker secretly wants to know:
Was it good?
Did it please?
Could it have been better?
Could I have done better?
And isn’t there something strangely satisfying—and erotic—about hearing exactly where improvement is needed?
There will be formal presentations and inspections. Each baker will receive both praise and one carefully chosen note for improvement. In the final challenge, submissives must discover what their dominant truly wants and serve it with attention, elegance and care.
There may be rewards.
There may be consequences.
There may be canes.
There will certainly be cake.
Prizes will be awarded with shameless seriousness.
Everything unfolds with warmth, humour and explicit consent. Each couple negotiates its own boundaries around touch, inspection, public attention, correction and impact. No-one will be made fun of or humiliated in ways they are not okay with.
But beneath the playfulness, this is still serious play:
Can we remain present while our efforts are being examined?
Cream or jam first?
Can we take pride in what we have made without becoming attached to the verdict?
Can service become erotic, generous and beautiful?
Can corrections be received as a gift?
And have tea tables always been stages for erotic hierarchy?
Come hungry. Come prepared. And mind your manners.
This event will be a great place to practise all the knowledge and insights you may have gathered at previous KNEEL events, this time in a more humorous setting. But you do need to have attended any of the previous KNEELs.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
This is a couples event.
This evening - and the KNEEL series - is for everyone who is curious about exploring power exchange as more than a dynamic. As a practice. As serious play. As deeply erotic. As a way of cultivating presence, intimacy, and conscious connection. And as a way of exploring who we are as humans and as social beings longing to belong.
THE KNEEL SERIES
This event is part of the KNEEL series by Anso Vela and Jac Fabian: Six immersive workshops, rituals, dinners, and social experiences about power. They are for couples and run from September to December 2026. You can join one, some or all events.
CAN I JOIN AS A BEGINNER?
Yes you can. But be aware that the KNEEL series is not a step by step intro to how to play with power series. We explore together and in many different ways. We ask questions and find the answers within ourselves through exercises, play and reflections. You may learn a whole lot about what power exchange is about at its core for you, as we focus a lot on the why and how we bring ourselves more fully into the moments of power.
DO I NEED A PARTNER?
Yes you do! You need to sign up as a couple and at each KNEEL event one of you needs to be in the submissive and one in the dominant role. You cannot come without a partner. You do not need to be romantic partners or sexual partners, but you need to be open and excited about being erotic with each other in a power dynamic.
At the opening of the evening we facilitate that you agree on your boundaries of the day with each other and to what extent you may be open to engage with others. This is up to you.
DRESSCODE

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS
The KNEEL series is facilitated by Anso Vela and Jac Fabian who have many years of experience with power exchange both as deep, erotic sessions and daily, meaningful practice.
Anso Vela’s (she/her) current artistic work develops spaces where power, intimacy and desire can be explored with awareness and intention. She creates immersive formats that function as laboratories for surrender, authority, trust and responsibility, engaging BDSM as both artistic language and relational inquiry.
Alongside this, her curatorial practice operates across larger cultural frameworks, shaping international collaborations and platforms that examine how art and culture can influence perception, contribute to structural change, and foster connectedness in a fragmented world.
Jac Fabian (he/him) is an experienced rope bondage and kink practitioner who’s been teaching and facilitating BDSM for more than a decade. His focus is the meeting point of perversion, power dynamics, aesthetics, group facilitation and co-creation processes, artistic experimentation, and consciousness. He is the founder and director of House of Play in Copenhagen. Jac has performed in Tokyo, at The Danish Royal Theatre and many other kink and art venues.
