The Crossing - A Mythical Liquid Love Journey

  • Shetlandsgade 3, 1st floor 2300 Copenhagen Denmark (map)

A liquid love experience based in Norse mythology with a live sound journey and visual projections.

NOTE: You need to apply here to attend this event.

The moment you step through the door, you have already crossed.

You are welcomed not as a visitor, but as a soul arriving at the threshold between worlds. You carry your name, your story, the shape of who you believe yourself to be. What waits on the other side: the oldest water, the roots of the world tree, and the quiet question Hel asks every soul that enters her hall.

Who are you, underneath all of it?

This is an immersive journey through dissolution, and return. Drawn from the depths of Norse mythology and held in warm oil, live sound, and light. We follow the soul's passage down to the roaring cauldron at the root of Yggdrasil, through the ordeal of release and back - changed, lighter, carrying only what is essential.

This is a journey that uses myth the way myth was always meant to be used - as a map of the inner life, a language for what the body already knows but the mind struggles to name. The Norse frame gives us a baseline but what we are really moving through is the universal experience of letting go of an old self and discovering what remains when the stories fall away.

What stories do you carry about who you are? What would it feel like to set them down, even briefly, and float in the space between one self and the next?

We invite you to dissolve. We promise to hold you while you do.

This workshop is the second in a series of 3 workshops in collaboration with The Playground, a production collective that blends theatre, ritual, and kink to explore our depths through immersive experience. These workshops will serve different flavours of what we offer at The Playground and lead up to a full-day event on the 27th of June.

WHAT IS LIQUID LOVE

Imagine being naked, blindfolded, and immersed in warm oil among a sea of oiled bodies. Yum! After an immersive workshop experience, everyone will gather in a shallow pool made from a solid frame and a tarp and have warm oil poured over them, then move and float together slowly and with gentle guidance.

WHAT HAPPENS AT LIQUID LOVE?

Each event is unique, but the structure is consistent: we begin together with introductions, a clear review of the rules, and exercises to build a warm, safer atmosphere. Clothing is removed and blindfolds are given for a guided meditation that gently launches you into the experience. As the session unfolds, you will be guided to move, explore, and surrender to the warmth and texture of the oil to create a deep, embodied connection with yourself and other participants.

Several trained spaceholders and a team of “Liquid Angels” are present throughout. Liquid Angels keep an attentive, care-focused eye on the space to ensure safety and consent. You can always raise a hand to speak with someone, use the bathroom, or get a drink of water. After the session you’ll have a chance to wipe down and hydrate before leaving. Please know there are no showers at the venue.

IS LIQUID LOVE SEXUAL?

Liquid Love is explicitly a non-sexual, body-positive, sensual, and intimate space intended to facilitate connection and oxytocin-rich experiences. Penetration and ejaculation are not allowed and predatory or sexualized behavior will be addressed immediately. This is not a space to pursue sexual intentions but we invite sensual exploration. Please respect the space, your own limits, and other participants’ choices about touch and nudity.

WHAT IF I BECOME AROUSED?

Arousal can naturally arise from sensual touch and, while your natural self is welcome here, it is allowed but must not be acted upon. If you feel uncomfortable or need support, ask for help from a Liquid Angel.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This experience is open to anyone who feels called to explore dissolution, release, and renewal through an embodied, immersive format. You are welcome if you are curious about what lies beneath your everyday sense of self, or if you have been carrying something heavy that is ready to be composted into the dark.

All that is asked is a willingness to arrive, to soften, and to let the journey take you where it needs to go.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A guided liquid love experience in warm oil, accompanied by a live sound journey moving from silence and void through ordeal and surrender to harmonic resolution and return. The experience closes with a visual projection sequence that reflects the inner journey back to you.

This is a non-sexual experience. Swimwear, underwear, or nudity is welcome. Wear what allows you to be fully in your body and fully present.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

This is not an event for complete beginners. We expect you to have some experience navigating non-verbal consent in these types of spaces, a strong sense of integrity, feeling your own boundaries and the ability and willingness to understand and follow the guidelines given. You also have experience holding yourself if difficult emotions arise during the experience. Please ask if you are unsure.

To ensure everyone's safety, please be aware that you may be refused entry if you have open wounds, rashes or severe skin conditions, suffer from contagious diseases, or are physically ill. If you are unsure of this, please let us know beforehand so we can make an informed decision.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS

The Playground is a production collective that holds spaces to explore the depths of intimacy through a playful lens. Blending elements of theatre, kink, and ritual, we hold the light and dark together with vulnerability and dignity. This is a new initiative held by experienced people who believe theatre and ritual can be infused to invite curiosity and support deeper dives and embodied integration. Co-created by Laura Tatar and Sune Rasmussen, our intention with The Playground is to design spaces where familiar ideas are experienced from new angles and new concepts can be explored through play, immersion, and reflection.
