#3 Honey and Calligraphy
This series of three ritualistic, deeply erotic evenings is created by visual artist and sex educator Dorte Holbek, following a visit to Japan.
Dorte is inspired by the eight core aesthetic principles in Japanese culture: Bi, Mei, Ma, Hi, So, Ka, Chi and Ha.
The evenings do not aim to recreate Japanese rituals or traditions; however after visiting Japan in the spring, Dorte came home deeply inspired and envisioned these three rituals, where the Japanese inspiration and Dorte’s many years of experience with kink and art, blend into three unique experiences.
In each of the evenings, we invite you into a slow, mostly non-verbal, playful and deeply erotic atmosphere with a hint of Kyoto Incense, where the rules are set when you enter.
Each of the evenings will explore one of eight aesthetic principles and will allow you to slow down, look more closely, notice all the small details, without having the responsibility of holding the structure.
The Ritual Room will be divided into small areas, each with a ceremonial wooden platter for the tools and servings for each couple. An assistant will bring you the ritual tools when it is time.
During the rituals you will follow the soft and subtle instructions.The instructions will be open-ended, allowing plenty of time to interpret the instruction in your own delicate and creative way.
The Ritual
The body is a mystical sanctuary, and it has - through the ages - been painted, tattooed, modified and adorned with magical signs in many different ways - for ritual purposes, erotic purposes, to mark a transition in your life, - or for pure fun.
In this ritual we will explore the element of KA, which means something like finding grace in impermanence, giving old forms new life. Kintsugi - as many people have heard of - follows the principles of KA.
We will start the preparations with a ritual cleansing and fixation of the person that will be adorned with calligraphy.
We will draw inspiration from various magical Japanese signs, and what they mean to us, and you can also create your own magical body signs.You can choose to do the calligraphy by pinching or micro whipping and later in the evening you will be given a soft brush to paint the signs on top of that. You can choose to paint with cold water or with black colour.
Midway through the ritual you will be offered a small glass of Japanese honey to sensually serve your calligraphed beauty, in whatever way you wish. The ritual concludes with a role reversal, where the adorned one will paint on the painter's chest as a gesture of gratitude for the beautification process.
DO I NEED A PARTNER?
Yes you do. You will arrive in pairs and we don't mix. Please choose a partner, a friend or a buddy, you feel safe with. Before the ritual starts you will choose who will take on the leading role and who should be the receiving part. There will be no switching during the event.

You can arrive and land in the space from 18.30. Please come early.
Doors close at 19.00 and you can not enter after this time.
If you are late, you may lose your ticket.
DRESSCODE
You can dress in whatever feels comfortable, beautiful or hot for you, and we invite you to contribute to the ritualistic and erotic atmosphere. Also keep in mind that your body may be observed and praised, bit by bit, by your partner during the session.
WHAT TO BRING
Bring a rope (or you can borrow ropes from House of Play) to fixate the receiver.
Bring a plain dark bath towel.

These are exclusive evenings with only 12 couples participating, instructed by Dorte Holbæk and a co-facilitator, and tended to by a number of servants.
You need to sign up as a couple. One ticket is for one couple.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Dorte Holbek (she/her) is a psychotherapist specialising in kink and poly relationships and a tantra teacher. Throughout the years she has given many workshops in different aspects of these subjects. Coming from the art world, Dorte is curious to create new playful, soulful and deep formats between art, ritual, exploration and kink. Dorte is part of the House of Play crew and also through many years part of the organiser group for Kinky Salon Copenhagen.
