Energetic Sex for Pragmatists w. Reid Mihalko

  • Shetlandsgade 3, 1st floor 2300 Copenhagen Denmark (map)

House of Play is excited to once again offer 2 different workshops and talks with world renowned sex educator Reid Mihalko, founder of Sex Geek Summer Camp. Known for his inspiring blend of humor, personal stories, keen insights, and comprehensive sexual health knowledge, Reid’s 20-year career is filled with workshops, experiences, and teaching frameworks that have influenced culture and the sex and intimacy fields.

Maybe you have heard stories about tantric sex, Kundalini, energetic orgasms, or people who can feel waves of pleasure move through their whole body.

Maybe you have read articles promising explosive orgasms through breathing.
Maybe you have heard the legend about Sting having sex for eight hours.
Maybe you have felt your own body twitch, shake, pulse, heat up, or tremble after orgasm and wondered, “What on earth was that?”

Or maybe you hear words like “chakras,” “yoni,” “sacred masculine,” and “sacred feminine,” and a part of you quietly looks for the nearest exit.

This workshop is for you.

Energetic Sex for Pragmatists is an invitation to explore the world of energetic sex without needing to believe in anything you do not believe in.

We will look at breath, presence, attention, arousal, resonance, body awareness, and the strange and wonderful ways bodies can respond when pleasure has more room to move.

Reid Mihalko will teach his practical, down-to-earth approach to what he sometimes calls the “Tantric Twitchies” — also known in some traditions as kriyas — the involuntary movements, tremors, pulses, heat, waves, or emotional releases that can sometimes show up during sex, erotic connection, deep breathing, bodywork, orgasm, or intense presence.

You do not need to be New Agey.
You do not need to be tantric.
You do not need to have special powers.
You do not need to understand Sanskrit.
You do not need to be good at meditating.

And if you love all those things, you are welcome too.

This workshop will explore energetic sex in a way that is practical, playful, queer-inclusive, non-gendered, non-polarity-based, and useful for many bodies, genders, orientations, and relationship styles.

We will explore how sexual energy can be understood as attention, breath, sound, rhythm, emotion, vibration, tension, relaxation, sensation, and nervous system response.

There will be teaching, LIVE demonstrations, and optional exercises.

Exercises may include sensual and erotic breath and energy exchange, eye contact, partnered presence, seated and lying-down positions, and clothed partnered positions such as yab-yum, where one person sits in another person’s lap.

Some exercises may involve consensual, fully clothed physical contact. Some exercises can be done without touching. All exercises are invitations and can be adjusted to your body, boundaries, mobility, nervous system, and comfort level.

This is not about forcing an energetic experience.
This is not about performing spirituality.
This is not about pretending to feel something you do not feel.

It is about getting curious.

What happens when we breathe with more awareness?
What happens when we slow down enough to notice subtle sensation?
What happens when two bodies attune to each other through breath, gaze, sound, pressure, and presence?
What happens when pleasure becomes less goal-focused and more spacious?

The workshop may include:

  • Reid’s pragmatic approach to resonance play and how sexual energy may “behave”

  • What the “Tantric Twitchies” can look like and what to do if they show up

  • Ways to explore energetic sex solo or with partners

  • How breath and presence can build erotic awareness

  • How to engage with sexual energy without relying on gender, polarity, or fixed roles

  • How a wine glass or singing saw can help explain resonance, vibration, and arousal

  • How pressure play can sometimes help unlock energetic responses in the body

  • How to stay grounded when an experience becomes intense, emotional, silly, or surprising

  • Tips and tricks that may make you smile, sigh, twitch, melt, or moan — whether anything “mystical” happens or not

Energetic sex does not have to be mysterious, precious, or full of spiritual vocabulary.

It can be practical.
It can be funny.
It can be embodied.
It can be surprisingly easy to begin exploring.
And it can add more aliveness, depth, pleasure, and wonder to the sex you are already having.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This workshop is for adults of all genders, orientations, bodies, and relationship styles who are curious about energetic sex, breath, arousal, resonance, tantric practices, erotic presence, and body-based pleasure.

It is for you if you:

  • Are curious about energetic sex but do not want too much woo-woo

  • Love tantra and want a more pragmatic way to talk about it

  • Have experienced post-orgasmic twitching, shaking, heat, pulses, or waves and wondered what was happening

  • Want to explore breath, presence, eye contact, and erotic energy with more confidence

  • Want a non-gendered and non-polarity-based way to explore sexual energy

  • Want optional, adjustable exercises in a consent-forward space

  • Enjoy practical teaching, humor, LIVE demos, and “Ohhhh, that makes sense” moments

This workshop is not for you if you are looking for a play party, guaranteed orgasmic experiences, or a space where everyone is expected to touch, partner, or participate in the same way.

CAN I JOIN AS A BEGINNER?

Yes.

Beginners are welcome. You do not need experience with tantra, energetic sex, meditation, kink, breathwork, or Reid’s work.

This workshop is designed to be accessible and practical. You are welcome to watch, listen, ask questions, try exercises, adjust exercises, or sit out at any time.

DO I NEED A PARTNER?

No.

You can come alone, in pairs, or as a group. Some exercises may invite partnered practice, and you may be invited to work with different people in different constellations.

You may choose to work only with your partner(s), if that feels right for you. You may also choose to do some exercises solo or observe.

All exercises are invitations and can be adjusted.
