Are You Good Enough?

A Grow Up Workshop on Identity and Self-Worth

The first workshop in the four-part Building Safer Attachment series with Li Tadaa at House of Play

The belief that we are not good enough can show up almost everywhere in life.

We may feel that we are wrong, that we are not performing well enough, that we do not deserve what we want, or that we need to become someone else before we can relax and feel okay.

In relationships, this can make us lose ourselves. We may become pleasers, adjust too much to the other person, ignore our own needs, or try to become who we believe they would prefer us to be.

We may focus so much on being a good partner, a conscious partner, an attractive partner, an easy partner, or an emotionally mature partner that we lose contact with a more basic question:

What is actually true for me?

The belief that we are not good enough can also shape the relationships we enter. When a part of us already believes that we are worth less, we may accept dynamics that do not feel good, take too much responsibility, or stay in situations where we slowly disappear.

And then we start doing inner work.

We go to therapy, read books, attend workshops, and learn about attachment, trauma, boundaries, and the nervous system. We genuinely want to grow. Yet the same part that has been trying to become good enough in the rest of our life may also take over the healing process.

Then the thoughts sound like:

  • I should have come further by now.

  • Why am I still reacting like this?

  • I thought I had already healed this.

  • Maybe I am not doing the work well enough.

I see this often. We try to overcome the feeling of not being good enough by becoming better at personal development.

The thing is, the part trying so hard to improve is often the same younger part that already believes something is wrong with it.

So the inner work becomes another performance.

To get this piece into place, we need to begin recognising that the feeling of not being good enough is a childhood identity. It may become activated when we make a mistake, become emotional, lose ourselves in a relationship, or fall back into an old pattern. But it does not define who we are.

This does not mean that we cannot learn, take responsibility, or do things differently. It means that we can meet what is happening without using it as proof that we are fundamentally wrong.

In this workshop, we will explore how this identity lives in the body and how it affects the way we relate to ourselves, other people, and our own growth.

We will practise noticing when we have become activated, reconnecting with the present moment, and allowing the grown-up to respond without attacking the younger part.

We will work with somatic practices, reflection, relational exercises, and the Grow Up understanding of younger parts and adult consciousness.

This is where we begin: with the relationship to our own value.

About the series

Building Safer Attachment

A Grow Up series of four workshops with Li Tadaa at House of Play

Each workshop has its own theme and can be joined as a single event. You can also take part in several of them as a deeper journey into building more safety within yourself and in your relationships with others. If you have attended similar workshops with Li before, you can trust that new layers will come up this time.

As we move into intimacy, most of us meet emotional challenges that are connected to both the person in front of us and our own history.

From a Grow Up perspective, we learn to recognise when the past has entered the present, so we can respond with more awareness instead of automatically repeating an old pattern.

Safer attachment is something we gradually build within ourselves. It gives us more capacity to come close, fall in love, open up sexually, meet uncertainty, and still remain connected to who we are.

One of the biggest challenges in intimacy is merging. Closeness can feel beautiful, but we may begin to lose our needs, boundaries, or sense of self inside the connection. Others protect themselves by keeping a distance and never fully allowing the meeting to happen.

This series is an invitation to stand more steadily within ourselves and move towards greater romantic and sexual sovereignty. Even though each workshop can be attended separately, the four workshops follow a movement:

Are You Good Enough?

Our relationship to our own value.

Can You Get Rejected?

Daring to reach out, ask, and risk hearing no.

Can You Love Without Falling?

Opening to love without losing ourselves inside it.

Shadows of Kink

Exploring sexuality, power, desire, and how they can become mixed with unresolved childhood needs.

How we do it:

Throughout the series, we will explore attachment through the body and look at how old patterns live in the nervous system and show up in relationships.

We will work with somatic practices, constellations, reflection, relational exercises, and emotional awareness, woven together with dance, play, and community building in a mix Li likes to call “trauma fun.”

CAN I JOIN AS A BEGINNER?

Yes you can, however take into account that this work may awaken fears, emotions and/or trauma in the body, so a basic capacity to self regulate and tend to your needs is necessary.

DO I NEED A PARTNER?

No - You may come with one (or more) but you can expect a lot of group exercises.

DRESSCODE

Comfy for dance and movement.

WHAT TO BRING
