COMPASSIONATE COMMUNICATION – Honesty, Empathy & Boundaries

  • Shetlandsgade 3, 1st floor 2300 Copenhagen Denmark (map)

This event is part of the New Manhood series, in which we explore the many layers of the male-socialised experience as it is shaped through upbringing, biology, and cultural expectation.

This workshop invites you to discover your authentic voice – one that speaks truth with kindness and listens with the heart. We’ll practice the art of compassionate communication: expressing needs, setting healthy boundaries, and receiving others with empathy. Through practical tools, real talk, and a few moments of light-hearted role play, we’ll make communication feel less like a chore and more like a dance. Expect to laugh, reflect, and maybe even say the thing you’ve been holding back – in a space that welcomes it.

For generations, the socialization of men is to speak with authority, yet not always with vulnerability, empathy, or truth. Beneath the surface of silence or performance, many of us carry words unspoken, needs unmet, and emotions unheard. This workshop offers a compassionate community space to remember that our voices are not weapons or defenses, they are bridges.

“Compassionate Communication” invites you into a deeper practice of communication, one rooted in honesty, compassion, and conscious presence. Together, we’ll explore what it means to express ourselves fully and to truly hear one another beyond judgment or agenda.

Through grounded practice, embodiment, and open dialogue, we will explore:

  • Authentic Voice: Reclaiming the power of self-expression – speaking truth without domination or retreat, and finding language that aligns with heart and integrity.

  • Active Listening: Developing the skill and sensitivity to listen with full attention, to witness others with empathy, and to hear what lies beneath the surface of words.

  • Compassionate Boundaries: Learning to express needs and limits clearly, honoring both our own truth and the dignity of others.

  • Emotional Literacy: Recognizing and naming feelings with awareness, transforming emotional reactivity into deeper understanding and connection.

  • Relational Presence: Cultivating honest communication with people of all genders, and within ourselves – creating relationships rooted in respect, safety, and love.

This is a space to slow down, to breathe, and to practice the art of listening and being listened to. Together, we’ll rediscover that communication is not a skill to master, but a practice of embodiment – a way of meeting life as it is, moment by moment, word by word.

Come as you are. Leave with a clearer voice, an open heart, and a deeper sense of connection – to yourself and to the world around you.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

Curious, caring and compassionate male-born humans – both those who identify as men as well as male-born non-binary people who resonate with this path

CAN I JOIN AS A BEGINNER?

Absolutely! The only prior experience required is growing up in a male body. You can join the individual workshop or the entire Manhood-series.

DO I NEED A PARTNER?

No partners required, you can come solo, with a friend or brother. The exercises can be practical, more physical, and sometimes hands-on, within each individual's boundaries. You’ll be encouraged to step in with openness and curiosity, working with different humans in a variety of combinations. Together, we will co-create in a fluid, collective experience that invites courage, play, and connection, without sexual activities or sexual interaction with others.

ABOUT THE MANHOOD SERIES

My mission is to create spaces where male-born humans can rediscover the parts of themselves they were taught to silence. I believe we all carry deep tenderness, intuition, creativity, desire, grief, humor, and an immense capacity for love. Too often, these qualities stay hidden because of inherited stories about what strength, emotion, and vulnerability are supposed to look like.

I support cis-men and male-born non-binary people in feeling without shame, speaking without fear, listening without defensiveness, and setting boundaries without guilt. I help them embody anger without harm and experience connection without collapsing or hardening. This work is not about perfection, but presence; not about performing strength, but embodying it.

Each workshop in the Manhood series stands on its own, offering a specific entry point into personal growth and embodied connection. Taken together, they form a rich journey – one that moves from brotherhood to embodiment, from communication to compassion, from guardedness to genuine openness.

This is an invitation to grow, to feel, to laugh, and to remember what it means to be fully human – together.
