LEVEL 2 - Suspension Basics

In this course we move from the basics beginners course on the floor into the world of suspensions, and learn how to make this transition in a safe and fun way.

We will focus on ways of tying the upper body for suspension use. We will practice up-lines and lock-offs and several specific suspensions, plus playful ties on the floor.

We also dive deeper into the features that make Japanese bondage such an intimate, juicy, beautiful, and sometimes transformative experience - from delightful moments of bliss, through erotic play to the beauty in surrendering.

We go further into concepts like:

  • Intimacy and non-verbal communication through ropes

  • Aesthetics and the beauty of rope bondage

  • The dynamics of power and surrender

  • Polarization and presence

  • Consent and being confident in communicating your boundaries

  • Body movement in ropes

  • Safety and nerves

WHO IS THIS FOR

This course is for you who already have basic skills in Japanese Rope Bondage, you have either attended the Beginner Course or similar training (Reach out if in doubt). The person tying needs to have some experience in technical ties for floorwork and rope play, and to be able to tie a Gote in a precise and safe way. The person being tied needs to have some experience in being tied.

The course will be held in English, but questions can be asked in Danish.

The course is for all genders and sexual orientations.

DO I NEED TO BRING A PARTNER?

You need to sign up as a couple, where one is being tied and the other ties, throughout the course. That’s because we want to prepare you for being able to do suspensions, which requires a certain level of technical understanding on how to tie and to be tied in a safe way.

If you want to join, but don’t have a rope partner, we suggest attending Rope Jams, Rope for Beginners, Rope Salons or other House of Play events to meet likeminded people also interested in ropes. You are also welcome to contact us and maybe we can help.

TIME

Every other Tuesday (uneven weeks) at 19.00-21:30.

Ten classes from January 19 to May 25, 2027.

WHAT TO BRING

Bring a least ten ropes of app. 8 meters x 6 mm, made from jute or hemp, plus a suspension ring and at least 3 carabiners. Contact us for advice on where to buy good rope and equipment.

Wear clothes you feel comfortable in and that you can move freely in.

  • Couple ticket for members of House of Play: 2.600,- kr.

  • Couple ticket non-members: 3.250,- kr.

  • Low income/student ticket: 2.600,- kr (please write to us on info@houseofplay.dk).

  • Tickets are non-refundable, but we are glad to help you sell your ticket if you cannot participate anyway.

TEACHERS

Jac Fabian (he/him) has many years of experience in Japanese Rope Bondage and in teaching all levels from beginners to very advanced bondage classes, with a focus on presence, deep polarization and connection, dominance, surrender and aesthetics. He has learned from many of the best teachers in Japan and Europe and has been invited to perform in Tokyo, at The Royal Theatre in Copenhagen and many other places. Jac Fabian also teaches various other aspects of kink and is the founder of House of Play.
