In this workshop we practice ways of communicating explicitly what we're experiencing during various erotic exchanges. This opens up doors to deeper understanding of each other's experiences, and to being able to play in new and interesting directions, responding directly to what is happening in real time. Learning methods to communicate while we’re playing can help us to go for what we find sexy or sparks curiosity, and it can help us to touch in with our embodied desires.
Often when we play we actually don’t know so much about what the other person(s) are experiencing. Conversation after play will often reveal that a lot more was going on in the other person(s), but the time to incorporate that knowledge has already passed. But what if you could bring all this knowledge of the other’s experiences into your exchange during the play itself? For that we need to slow down, find our words to describe our experiences, and ask questions in ways that enhance our shared understandings. This takes practice.
We will explore how to share our experiences during erotic exchanges, by stripping away any narrative that may exist either consciously or subconsciously. We will practice exploring and enquiring into each other’s erotic experiences, and using this knowledge to shape play. Through this practice we hope to help you find deeper and more interesting avenues of play.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
This is for you if
You’re curious about new ways of having more interesting and deeper erotic play sessions
You’re curious about understanding others and your own experience and desires better
You’re open to explore this with various kinds of people
This is not for you if
Sharing your experience and vulnerability is not your thing.
You’re only out to try to hook up with someone
CAN I JOIN AS A BEGINNER?
Yes, if you are comfortable being in a sex inclusive space, being around other people's erotic interactions, and already understand basic concepts of consent and negotiation.
DO I NEED A PARTNER?
You can come alone, in pairs or as a group. The exercises will be practical, physical, and hands-on, though you are encouraged to go very slow, and the slower the better. You’ll be invited to work with different people in various combinations throughout the workshop, but of course you should only work with people you feel comfortable with. You are welcome to work primarily with a partner you come with (if you do), but we think the practice can also be easier to learn with new people, so we invite you to try both.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Dunbear is a hedonist and practitioner of sex magic. They have been hosting play parties and sex positive workshops in Copenhagen since 2016, and are a co-creator of Kinky Salon Copenhagen, one of the city’s most colorful sex positive parties. Dunbear has an exploratory and expansive approach to BDSM, seeking to emphasize the playful nature of sex. This makes House of Play a natural fit for them. They prioritize community building, and see sexual liberation as a tool to undermine the abstraction and isolation of capitalist society, gender norms, patriarchy, and the meaninglessness of daily life.
